There are in fact some nice under the hood improvements in 8 and at some point you wont be able to BUY windows 7 when building a new machine. And of course a lot of us still need to stay on top of things as much as we may completely detest them.

Don't know about the above but I'll be installing classic shell to simply put back the start orb and start menu on my Win8 machine(s). Also be praying that someone can put back a little color and finesse into the upcoming bleached desktop :/ The only time I'll use metro is if I am hired to do work on it or need to support someone on it. (Or maybe buy a windows tablet, but that won't be for a long time)
