Because of the virus news, I just installed 2 IE10 updates. Upon reboot of the Win 8 (x64) machine to finish the update installs, my screen goes black just before the log-in screen. The cursor is all that shows, so I can neither see to log-in nor navigate. Suspect an IE update conflict with my NVIDIA drivers. In my XP days, I would boot into Safe Mode and do a system restore to remove the offending updates, but that doesn't appear to be an option on booting up Win 8. Not interested in Refresh or Reset unless that is the only option as I've of programs, color management files and pro print drivers, so a Refresh will require loads of time for re-installs and settings. Is there any way in from the boot menu in Win 8 to do a system restore or uninstall the offending updates without going the Refresh route? Thanks
