Hello,

I've been trying to configure my brand new hp PC with Windows 8.1 pro to auto-sleep but I have been unable to do so. If it hit the power button or select sleep from the menu it will sleep, however.

I ran powercfg/energy and it appears from the report that this is the issue:

System Availability Requests:System Required Request
The device or driver has made a request to prevent the system from automatically entering sleep.

****Does anyone have an idea why an audio codec would prevent sleep? Is there anything I can do? Thanks so much for your help!!

The first place to check is HP.com to see if any drivers need updating.

Does anyone have an idea why an audio codec would prevent sleep?

This a default setting in many operating systems to prevent the system from turning off while playing audio/video. Do you have Apps or Programs still open that would require the use of audio/video? Maybe Netflix? iTunes?
