How to add audio (playback) devices on windows 8.1 OS?

Hello,
So the title states the majority of the problem, but I should probably note what is happening.
When plugging in headphones / earbuds audio plays out of the speakers and not the earbuds / headphones.

I have investigated a bit and found that I need to set my default audio device to my headphones, but that is not an (apparent) option.

Please fill in the "My System Specs" - helps us to try and help you. We can only guess without it. One thought, if the earbuds and headphones are made for an iPhone or similar an adapter is needed to use them with a PC.

Also, here is how to post screenshots on this forum. You don't have to host them somewhere else.
