Here is another way with no software, just have figure out milliseconds to seconds How To Make Windows 8 Boot Even Faster!

Mine was 16 seconds boot. Laptops tend to be faster boot times then Desktop.

Yes I have noticed this on my new Z97 board almost a minute to boot about the same software. More Drivers to load it appears

Not sure, have 2 processors listed, why ? Good SSD too Pro version. Not sure has to do with hardware differences too, amount of hardware.
We know definitely start up items have an effect. My AV set to normal boot time protection meaning loading during boot. 16 sec. although restart will take longer for me.

Well it looks like I will have to hold off for now. Hubby says if we replace the hard drive we will void the 1 year warranty on the laptop.
MAJOR BUMMER!!!!!

Do you get any kind of warranty with the SSD's?
Darn I was so close...

Thanks everyone for your input and expertise!

Ofcourse your warranty will fall, for almost any kind of opening, replacing, reconnecting or whatever you want with the hardware, because they don't want you to touch it. (Depends on your manufacturer how strict it is)

Just bought a crucial mx200 250GB, I'm really curious what my boot time will be as its normally around 5 seconds. Get it tomorrow and have to play a lot with my space to reach less than 225GB.

First off this depends on manufacture warranty but most allow you to upgrade the hard drive.
your 5 second boot time is from Hybrid Sleep. Your SSD will be about the same from Hybrid Sleep however it will most likely accomplish a full restart or boot from true off in about 15 to 20 seconds depending on what all you have loading besides windows.
I have no Idea what Crucial warranty is Samsung 850 Pro have a 10 year warranty their Evo line is 5 years there older models were 3 years. My Intel 530 has 5 years. I have hybrid sleep and Hibernate and fast boot turn off my boot times are around 20 seconds on my notebook 30 or so on my desk tops desktops are slower since they are loading more devices during boot up.

I'm not upgrading my HDD, I'm replacing my cd player with the SSD because its cheaper to replace the cd player with the SSD than replacing the HDD and I don't want to loose the 1TB of my HDD + I don't have any warranty anymore since a few months. My father, who paid 50%, wouldn't let me replace anything if there was any kind of warranty.

I'm aware of what and how with my boot time ;)
But its just that it feels like it takes forever to finish the boot time, I only hope it will feel differently when my ssd is installed with windows.

For one good idea have a CD ROM unless always want to use USB Flash Drive. Don't feel SSD going to be cheaper then a CD ROM.

The only issue I see here it that your CD Slot most likely is only SATA 1 1.5 G where your hard drive slot it SATA III 6GB. I would be more incline to have my data drive on the slower connection and my SSD on the faster connection with windows installed and most used programs then store all data and less used programs on the 1 TB drive

i have a m.2 ngff slot and I dont know what speed it is.. but one guy told me that might be faster than my SSd internal slot because it might be pci-e or express lane or something i can't remember..

You can try hwinfo64, it may tell you. Your manufacture website may have a User manual where you could look up whether its a SATA or PCIe connection.

I have hybrid sleep and Hibernate and fast boot turn off my boot times are around 20 seconds on my notebook 30 or so on my desk tops desktops are slower since they are loading my devices during boot up.

About the speed you're correct. I'll probably replace the HDD with the SSD and replace the cd player with the HDD. But I wonder where the 3Gbps is coming from, I haven't seen another place in my laptop to put an extra HDD or SSD.

Well your user manual would sort that out for you if you have a 2nd SATA slot for a data drive? If you don't have a hard copy download one form your manufacture Support website.

I've followed a tip and have now the SSD in my laptop installed and the HDD in the cd/dvd player installed.
Backed up everything with macrium and restored with winPE on my SSD without the HDD connected.
At first I thought the restore failed because the SSD couldn't be found after reboot for a windows update.
Tried again turning on my laptop and it came on. Checked the storage and saw my HDD wasn't found, because it was offline.
After I put it online I went to the BIOS and changed the boot option.

It took me a while to figure out how to get the system to the SSD, because yesterday I was the whole afternoon busy trying to clone the system to my SSD which didn't work. I couldn't redeploy the system in winPE even though I paid for it, it says I'm still using the trial version.

My boot time is less then 10 seconds right now, short version of it all :p
