hi
I have win 8
when running apps in "run as administrator" and when running most of apps, windows give me this message:

"
do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?
.
.
.
to continue, type an administrator, password and click yes.
"

but yes button in deactive and there is not any password field to fill it.

I dont know in which type is my user account ?? standard or administrator ??
now I can't do many of actions in windows for this reason and can't enable administrator account and switch to it.

now what I must do ?? :((

Hello se, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Is this for Windows 8? Your specs show XP.

It sounds like the account is a standard user.

The tutorial below can help you to determine if your account is and "administrator" or "standard user" type of account in Windows 8, and change it if you like. You will only be able to change the type while signed in to an administrator account though.

oh yes my os is xp and I havent problem with myself os.
but my cousine have win 8 and we have problem with this os.
we determine that our win 8 os is standard user and administrator account is disable too and we can't login to it.
for now how activate administrator account from an standard account and login to it??

Your cousin will need to talk the administrator or parent to change his/her account type.

I'm afraid that we can't help since this appears to be an attempt to bypass the administrator. :(

Otherwise, reinstalling Windows will sort this.

oh no no.
my cousin is 27 years old and this os is for himself and isnt under any organisation or any administrator.
some times ago maked a problem for his os and one of his friend solved that problem and changed type of his account from admin to standard.
for now that friend says that I dont know that day what did I do with os and I dont know how to restore win to administrator.

sorry my english is very weak.
please help us :)

Option Two in the tutorial link posted above can help show you more on how to. :)

all options of that tutorial gave me access denied alert.

finally I could find the administrator account in safe mode and loged in to it and changed my user from standard to admin from inside it :)
