Hey all.
I have a HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1111nr. It came stock with Windows 8.
The HDD was irreparably damaged, and I never had a chance to make a recovery USB (No one's fault but my own.)
HP says that I'd need to order a recover USB for them, and wait until it ships. I'm in the Military, and live in Okinawa. Shipping to APO, AP addresses takes around 2+ weeks on average.
I'm aware that the bios has the Windows 8 product key essentially hardcoded into it. Is there a workaround to getting my system up and running again without having to wait for USB recovery media in the mail?
