Solved Hard Disk Capacity Decreased after Defragmentation

Hello and nice day to all

Have any of you mate encountered or experienced a significant decreased in your hard disk capacity after defragmentation?

Last night, i used AVG Defrag tool, before that I still have +103GB free space, but today, i suddenly noticed that I ONLY HAVE 65GB free space. I did not install anything nor did I do anything else, just the defragmentation last night and turn off my PC.

Any idea or suggestion or comment of help will be appreciated much.

There is nothing unusual that can be seen in the Disk Management. Run this program and see whether you discover any unusual files.

just downloaded, and running the windirstat.

i was told that defragmenting is supposed to free up space., but i just tried again before this, another defragmentation and now the free space DROPPED BY to 53.0GB from the above of 55GB. I scanned by bitdefender and no unusual was found, but any idea why is this happening?

Have you noticed an increase in the number of restore points ?

Some programs create restore points automatically when defragmenting, thus decreasing disk space.

That may not help. There is nothing wrong with the system, it's the disk that is messed up. There is always a risk when you use an OEM program.

Defrag does not neccessarily reduce the space. It is supposed to make the disk operations faster. That's the nice thing with SSDs - no need for defrag.
