Could it be a faulty satacable or did you already try to use a other sataport.

Have you another working HDD from a other pc with OS to try in this pc and see if it starts normally.

It could be that your Cmos battery is not seated properly, check it. Or the battery is faulty/

It could be that it is not saving your settings properly and maybe could not find some hardware settings when it restarts.

Hmm I'm using an M.2 on my gamer PC
bought a 250 HDD for test , attempted to reinstall windows
EXACTLY same error/trouble which rules out the HDD
I don't know anything more I can try

salvage for parts ?
I'd love to have a spare AMD chip or DDR3 mem chips
just for satisfaction ...

ok thanks I'll reseat it , brand new mobo though
have reset CMOS a number of times - the old jumpers way
try again ..

Could you install windows on the new 250 SSd in your other Asus System and then put it in the AMD system and see if it will boot up normally.

If this SSd then also not works its has to be some problem with your mobo i believe.
Maybe for testing try the CMos battery from the Asus system if it is compatible.

SSD is an M.2 module

whole PC passed onto someone who thinks he knows the problem
( amd cpu partly fried due to power surges earlier on in the year ) !!

If he find the answer I'll come back
