This is my first day with my new PC. I just got it for Christmas and since the first boot up I noticed a tremendous drop in WiFi connection. After about an hour of messing with Windows 8 (First time using Win8) I had installed Steam and decided to download a game. I was maxing out at only 317 kbps! Now sure how it's possible because my old PC was dual core and only 3 gb of RAM and I was maxing out at 1.8 mbps, and this PC has a six-core processor with 10 gb of RAM. I'm pretty sure my issue is not my router because it has worked perfectly fine until I first booted up this PC. After about 4 hours of frustration I noticed that ALL the devices on the whole network were getting very poor connection, so I turned off my PC and everything was working perfectly fine. It's as if it's taking all of the power. I have no clue what to do anymore. Please Help me asap...

What about if it's physically connected via network cable?

What brand of router?

Download Inssider or another wifi analyzer program and see if you have lots of other networks around your area.
