The Favorites folder has been moved to D: drive. The error message I am getting is as follows:

D:\Favorite is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

I can not delete or replace the Favorites with its backup.
Is there a solution other than formating the D: drive and restoring backup of the Favorites?

Hello Brink:)

I understand that I can start using the Favorites folder by changing its location. How can I restore it onto D: drive?

If you move the Favorites folder to D, it'll break favorites in Internet Explorer.

The Farorites was broken but not because I moved it to D:. I have been using it there for many years. I just do not know why it is broken now. I know it can be fixed by formatting the D: drive and restore the backup but wonder if there is simpler way. The D: drive is RAID1 and contains 640GB of files and folders.

In that case, you might see if restoring it back to the default location on C, then afterwards move it back to D may sort it.

As I previously stated I tried to restore the backup and was asked if the same file to be replaced and responded with Yes.But that could not be done. That must resulted in leaving bad corrupted files in the Favoritest. Isn't the same would happen in the process of moving the Favorites back to the D: drive? Maybe I should just try.

It won't hurt to try, but I would keep a copy of your favorites backed up at another location to be safe.

I moved it back to the default location, restored the backup in the Favorite and IE worked fine. I tried to move it back to D: \Favorites and it asked if I wanted to move all files. Proceeded with Yes, then the following message:

The folder can't be moved here. Can't create folder "D:\Favorites\A Tool-Bar" The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

IE works fine with the Favorites at the default location. What could be wrong?

I'd say see if deleting the old location on D, and creating a new folder for it may allow it to work afterwards.

Solved.:D

I still could not delete the Favorites folder on the old location the returned message saying not accessible. I tried to change the name and found I could. I created a new Favorites folder and restore the Favorites from the default location.

The changed name of the Favorites is FavoritesX. If I attempt to delete this, a message says "Are you sure you want to move this folder to the Recycle Bin?" I responded with Yes but the folder stays there and never be deleted. Leaving it there is not a big problem but I would like to get rid of it if possible. Any suggestion?

The Unlocker took care of the folder. I like the Unlocker. :thumb:
Thanks for your help.
