Duplicate Drive Shown in Windows Explorer when "Save As" is Selected

Hey Guys, when I use the "Save As" option from certain programs (I've noticed that it's mostly with MS products), a duplicate folder appears mirroring my user folder in Windows Explorer. I should add that I've made my "A" Drive my user folder and wonder if that's why I'm getting this. Any help in preventing the "A:/" drive from appearing when I use the "Save As" option would be super-appreciated. This has been driving me nuts for years. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. I had to think about this one.

It does appear that since you somehow duplicated your user folder as the A drive.

Are you able to restore your user folder back to its default C location?

Hey Shawn, thanks for getting back to me. I am able to restore it to its default location on the C: drive but would like to have the whole A drive as my user folder (I think I want that). Perhaps I should ask that question. I've partitioned my HD into a system and personal drive. In having one exclusively for private use, isn't it best to assign the user folder to the whole drive? That way, all my personal files are under the same umbrella. Or is that flawed thinking?

Also, I should clarify that the duplicate drive appears only when I use the "Save As" feature and only on certain non Microsoft products (Earlier I mistakenly said it happened with MS products like Outlook, but that isn't that case).

You might see if restoring your user profile folder back to the default first, and then moving it to a folder with the same name instead of to the root of the drive. This way the folder won't show as the drive letter if that's the case.

Usually the "A" and "B" driver letters are reserved for a floppy disk. You might use a different drive letter.

You might also look at the tutorial below to see if that method to move the "Users" folder may work better for this.
