coldtouch: It means to uninstall norton

can you recommand some temporary free anti virus so my computer will be safe while norton is gone/ or should i stay without virus protection and turn firwall on/

Windows 8 has windows defender which has antivirus. Read elsewhere how to activate it.

so far since i have uninstalled norton there is no bsod, i need some more time to be sure and if everything is ok ill mark this thread as solved.

If you have previous uninstalled a Norton anti virus product, run the Removal tool now.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product
This will get rid of all traces of Norton, which can still cause problems with your system.

ok so far all is good, ill give one last day and consider this issue solved. many thanks for you guys here helping people like me.
cant beleave that after all norton 360 was the problem, though that they were the best security suite out there.

We have seen many issues solved by removing Norton programs.

Let us know if your system is stable.

ok since i have uninstalled norton so far i have no blue screens no freezes, everything works perfect. Now the question is should i stay using windows defender or should i look for some other security suit?

Many are using Windows Defender with no problems.

I'm using Avast with no problems, same for Windows 7.

Other anti-virus programs do cause problems in W8 and Windows 7. You'll have to check with other people to confirm which ones are working with W8.
