This is driving me nuts, now each time i create or delete a folder or file in my desktop..
the created file or document appears twice in my file finding application. Because
"Documents & settings" at c: turned into a copy of C:\Users

So i agree to have docs & settings copied to C:\Documents & settings
but i don't want to see every other files & folders from C:\Users
at C:\Documents & settings

How can i reverse that ?

Ps: my C:\Documents & settings
folder, looks half invisible & with a Shortcut Overlay..

Hello, :shawn:

The "Documents and Settings" folder with the arrow on it is a protected OS system folder.

What did you change to make it do this?

For now, you could use option three in the tutorial below to restore the default location of the Desktop folder to see if it may help.

I don't know what i did, but the default is already c:\users\administrator\desktop
But this isn't helping, i need to get rid of the junction in "c:\documents and settings"

i've read that this command could do that:
(sysinternals) junction.exe -d <junction directory>.->
junction.exe -d C:\Documents and Settings
it would delete the junction, logically not the source files at
c:\users\administrator\desktop

I need to make sure it won't delete the files from my desktop

Messing with the protected OS "Documents and Settings" folder can mess up things. It's a junction point to your "Documents" folder for backwards compatibility.

Usually, you would want to keep hidden protected OS system files as this one hidden, and not set to show.
