I did a clean install today and this time I am going to use Windows defender & firewall

Good morning, Here in England we have a magazine called "Which?" and they are very good with comparing different services. In a recent edition Firewalls etc., and the official windows Defender came out on top of their survey, my daughter has never used any thing else but Windows Defender and has not had any trouble at all. On the purchase of a new computer running Windows 8 I have not downloaded any third party defences and will continue in that until I come across any thing doubtful.

Nothing, since I used MSE for Windows 7 and now it's integrated into Windows Defender for Windows 8.

I use Windows 8 Defender and have no problems. The best solution is to stay away from questionable sites.

I installed
Baidu Antivirus since my AVG would not work with the 8.1. I ran the Initial Scan and it found 3 Nasty' and one ad-ware problem.

Also just running the Windows firewall along side the windows defender. So far everything is running smooth.:)
