Hello, I've had this problem for quite some time but a few weeks ago it disappeared, I was very relived but now it's back and I don't know what to do. (I'm using Windows 8.1 currently waiting for the notification to upgrade to windows 10)
So basically once I log onto my laptop everything seems fine until a little notification pops up saying "Failed to connect to a Windows service" "Windows couldn't connect to the Group Policy Client service".
So I go into my system event log as it says to do, and I see all these errors. Many of the errors are Event ID: 7000 Service control manager.
So these errors concern me as it's slowing down my laptop and I just can't seem to fix it.This Windows couldn't connect to Group Policy Client also makes it so certain browsers such as Chrome take up to an 1 hour for the chrome browser to pop up. Then once inside chrome flash stops working and videos start to buffer.
When it connects to group policy (Few weeks ago) Chrome and everything worked fine.
So I read up on it and tried the /sfc scannow however once finishing it said it found corrupted registry but couldn't fix it.
So I did /Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, however once finished it said "Dism failed. No operation was performed"
So I tried /Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanUp which completed fine, so yet again I went back to trying /Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, but yet again it said "Dism failed. No operation was perfomed"..
Error 0x80240021
Please help me fix this as Windows couldn't connect to group policy client service is causing a number of issues, with chrome, slowing down login, slowing down browsing. (Even kicking me from CSGO games saying my laptop is not secure for Vac servers, many of you won't know about CSGO)
I really don't want to refresh or restore my laptop as I have LOTS of games installed and I have BAD internet so it would take weeks to reinstall them all..
Any help with this would be VERY VERY appreciated, I just don't know what else to do...
