you misunderstand, Malwarebytes, which I have, is great for bugs etc, but for total uninstalls. iobit uninstaller takes some beating.

I haven't looked in the Registry but upon doing a search of the system drive, I found this left over. I used their uninstaller too. Next time I'll use Revo.

Way back when I first got online, I researched different firewalls and AV progs. With all the bad reviews that I saw on Norton (Win95-XP) I decided I'd never run it. I've used AVG, Avast, Panda, Comodo and now Kaspersky. Only one that I was not pleased with was Panda.

If you want to test your AV, try this test.

Glad someone else found the rubbish that Norton Installs into your registry without you knowing. Well that's 3 of us, ANY more ;-))

All of Norton products have that habit of installing bunch of unwanted and to me useless stuff and is notoriously difficult to completely uninstall and get rid of leftovers. Adobe is not much better ether.

That was nice to hear; for years i thought about Windows Defender and i really don't know still now what's meant it. But my question is Why Windows Defender was there in my PC and it really works or not.

Windows Defender is part of Windows 8 and it works but is not between the best AVs out there. For a knowledgeable and careful surfer it should be just fine.
Most of aftermarket AVs shut it's service down when installed because of conflicts when you have 2 full time AVs installed. After Uninstalling "Other" AV it might not be activated again so you'll have to do it manually. (If possible, because some AVs can damage it intentionally or not)

Bolding mine. YES! Kaspersky does that. If KIS gets corrupted it takes out Windows Defender too.
