I believe it's simply a matter of people simply refusing and/or unable to learn a new OS.
That comes from the erroneous belief that everything new must automatically be better for every user in every way.
Clearly that is not the case.
A new product might be better at some things, worse at others. It might have features which serve the seller, not the prospective buyer, or any number of combinations.
My new fridge freezer is a tiny little bit lower in energy consumption than my previous one ( mainly because it has a smaller capacity ). In all other respects it is far worse than my previous one.
