Chrome is crashing

Over the past few days I've noticed that when I click on a news link in Chrome or IE, half the time the page crashes and I'm informed "this page cannot load at this time."

I am curious to know if anybody else is experiencing this issue and if so, is there a solution available or do we just wait for Microsoft to fix it?

Thank you.

What security and monitoring programs are active? Your computer might possibly be a part of a un-asked-for botnet, doubtful, but do a couple of deep scans anyway.
