Changing sound output -different listening positions

Hi all,

I was wondering if its possible to have a software switch which changes the in-use speakers.

For example, I'm typing this sat at my desktop. The speakers are optimised for the person in this chair.
Are there any media players (or other programs) which could switch the speakers over for listening across the room.

If I could press the button and make (for example) Front right to become 'Room left' and Rear left to become 'Room right' (music being 2.1 channel stereo).

Is this a thing?

I guess its similar to multi-room setups.

Nothing that I know of with a simple "switch" (utility).

If you want a different speaker system to operate, you would need a "switch box" to be able to manually switch from one speaker system to another. I have that on my PC as I also use it for my recording studio. I have my regular 2.1 computer speakers and I also have Studio Monitor speakers. I have a speaker switch box that I can switch the PC output to either the 2.1 computer speakers or the Studio Monitor speakers.
