I can't open up my app bar, I know the shortcut is Winkey+Z but it doesn't do anything for me. Any ideas anyone please?

Thanks

Ah, ok. That was removed in Windows 8.1. Instead, you would right click or press and hold on app now.

Ah that would explain it! lol When you say you right click on app (I don't have a touchscreen), what exactly do you mean by 'app'?

I think you can still bring up the 'Bar' when you're at the Start Screen or Apps Screen by pressing the 'Space' bar.
(So, for the Start Screen it would be :winkey: + Space Bar but not simultaneously)

That allows me to edit the tiles but it's not what I'm after. The reason I wanted to access the now obsolete apps bar is because I heard that it provides a list of all apps belonging to an account. I have installed various apps for my son on my own login but have now given him his own login. Under his login you can't view any of the apps I installed on my windows account even though I have logged in with my account to the windows app store under his login. I know by logging in with the same account I will be able to install all the apps I've paid for for free under his login too, but I've installed loads and I just want to be able to view a list of them whilst logged into his account to make it easy to know what to reinstall for his login. I think it's crazy that windows 8 forces you to install apps for each login account, so for example if you had a family of 5 people each with their own login, each app that they all want to use would need to be installed 5 times over on the same machine - how utterly ridiculous!!! Microsoft really ought to have provided some way of sharing apps between accounts on the same machine.

Ah, I forgot about the space bar.

Yep, I'm afraid that modern apps are only owned by the Microsoft account that installed or purchased them, and each account will need to install their own apps. :(

Now, you can sync your apps on all devices and PCs that you sign in to with the same Microsoft account though.

Yes but I have logged into his windows store using the exact same microsoft account, which is why I can install them for free on his login. However I still have to install every app individually all over again even though it's the exact same Microsoft account which is ridiculous and very poor design!!

I'm afraid that's the only way to share your apps is while signed in to Windows with their account, sign in to the Store with your MS account and install the apps.

This is because the apps are installed to separate locations per user account. :(

Yes, as mentioned, I'm aware that apps are installed under each user (and what terrible design that is!), which is why I wanted access to the app bar which allows you to view a list all the apps belonging to your account (at 7 years old my son is too young for his own microsoft account). I want to be able to view that list from his login. You said about right clicking on 'app' instead but what is 'app' exactly??

Thanks, I can access my app list in that way, however what I wanted was to be able to firstly have a list of apps I've installed myself (as opposed to those that come with windows, and I've installed quite a lot), plus I wanted to be able to access the list from my son's login. As a workaround I'll just have to photograph or take a screenshot of my apps list in my login so that I can view it from my son's login and just compare my list with his. Thanks for all your help though, you've been great, just Windows shortcomings that are frustrating (makes absolutely no sense at all to install apps under user profiles and not local to a machine - and if you have lots of apps and lots of logins on a machine, what an unnecessary mess and headache to repeatedly install everything).
