Solved Can't log into my hotmail account via Mail App anymore

Hello!
it's been a while since I can no long log into my hotmail (outlook) account via mail app.
I tried to log in using Internet Explorer and my account opens without any problem.
any help please.

I tried to connect my Yahoo account and it worked, but I don't know how ot log out

This is the 2nd time I post the same problem here. Is the problem really difficult to solve?

Not sure on the first one, are you signed into windows with a local account or using this Hotmail one

For the Yahoo question, you can't just sign out from the mail app, but if you open up the charms bar while in mail and then go to settings, select the option for accounts and click on yahoo, bottom of this is the option to remove it from mail

I signed into windows using another Hotmail account (=.....@gmail.com not ......@hotmail.com)

for yahoo, I can't and I don't know how to open the charms bar.

With the mail app open, press the Windows key + C, this should then open the charms bar at the right hand side, then go to settings at the bottom of here, then select accounts

here's a few things a found on MS site about this issue, do any of these relate to your account/password you are trying to add (thinking of the password length or special characters)
"Incorrect email or password" or "Couldn't sign in" error when you sign in to a Windows Phone with a Microsoft account

I followed the steps to remove Yahoo account and I removed it, but I was surprised to find that my windows account that I'm using as hotmail is already logged on ! and that's problem

I think if I can log out off Mail App something wrong might happen to my windows account, too

Not sure on using different accounts to log in with, hopefully someone else can answer that for you

If the email account is tied to your login account though, it will not let you delete it from mail

You're right it doesn't let me delete it from Mail.

I want to open Gmail account, which one should I choose IMAP or Exchange Activesync (EAS)?

I don't know which one is the best, I tried to open my gmail account with both options but none of them works

For gmail it needs to be IMAP, google stopped using Exchange ActiveSync a while back

servers for mine are
imap.gmail.com port 993
smtp.gmail.com port 465
all boxes under these settings are ticked

the only downside of gmail, unless things have changed in last few months, calendar and contacts don't sync
