Thanks for the replies Waffle,
MSFix doesn't seem to identify the problem, and the tips on the Microsoft thread don't seem to work either.
However, there are two NVidia folders (one in the C: drive which I think is from the attempted patch installation and one in Program Files (x86) which contains a PhysX folder).
As for the BIOS, I only downloaded the official update and the problem was before the update, also apparently I can't roll back to the previous version.
I can confirm the Switchable option isn't in my BIOS but strangely some others with the same model have it in their BIOS.
I'll contact customer support and see what they say, I hope they're allowed to give advice even outside of warranty.
