Generic advice (based on your problem description):
I've seen antivirus programs interfere - so remove any antivirus/internet security programs (temporarily) and use Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall while installing 8.1
Get ALL updates form the PC manufacturer
Then get ALL Windows Updates
Then do it all again 2 or 3 times - continue until you have all updates.
Then try again.
FWIW - it took me 3-4 months to finally be able to update to 8.1 on a new, Win8 system.
Specific advice (based on the reports that you submitted):
Your BIOS dates from 2008. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.
Due to the age of the system, it is very likely that this system may not be compatible with 8.1 (and may even have problems with Win8). I have a Lenovo tablet (x61t) that has a 2008 BIOS and it won't work reliably w/Win8. If it is incompatible, you can either live with the "quirks", or you can downgrade to Win7/Vista in order to get a stable system.
Only 120 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get
ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
You have 4 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?
Out of 6 memory dumps there were 5 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even
malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from
Initial Hardware Diagnostics or
Hardware Diagnostics ).
You can get a head start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here:
Hardware Diagnostics
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

If you are eventually able to update to Win8.1 (this isn't necessary if you don't update to 8.1) - Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web.
