Boot time suddenly takes longer

Meanwhile, I think MSFT has introduced these auto logs specifically for the purpose of quick troubleshooting of the most common issues.
Actually it's there so the event log can gather performance data for the diagnostics-performance log, but yes it is still an ETW log ;).

Ok, but the purpose of Diagnostics-Performance log is... quick troubleshooting :) Yet Windows doesn't delete the ETL after collecting data for the event log, and that's on purpose. Hence, I don't see any harm in using ETL, since it contains more information than the event log.

I realize that attempts to troubleshoot with this ETL may look pathetic for someone who analyzes traces for a living, but from my forum help experience [not limited by the number of posts on this forum] it works all right for starters. Because it's non-intimidating and easy for the person asking the question.

No, you're doing the right thing! Don't let me get you discouraged - you're absolutely doing the right thing. The fact you can look at it and discern puts you miles ahead of most folks looking for help, and hopefully curiosity will lead you to keep at it.

Good luck!!!
