Solved blue box out of no where

I already use IE

win8 has 2,the desktop version and the start screen /metro version that it looks like you are,the desktop version doesn't have that big blue box

open your IE,
ok the right lower corner go to tools[the wrench]go options and turn on/off always show address bar and tabs.

or click show on desktop and see what happens

there is nothing in the right lower corner, except the charms will pop up. and there is no wrench either. the only "tools" is at the top
the only options is internet options. then there is a place to click on to make changes to the tabs. and the only one I have is
"show preview for individual tabs in the task bar". yet i'm still getting that blue box.

upps my bad you have your taskbar on the top ,also ignore my last post because I thought you were using metro IE but
a closer look at the picture you posted it looks like you are using desktop version of IE

check the pic, that how I have mine set ,I don't have the blue box and don't want it ,I will re-read your post after and see just what you are trying to achieve ,I got to get back to build a small shed in the backyard ,

also I think you might find a fix in the taskbar properties ,right click the taskbar go properties and play with the taskbar buttons settings .hope this helps

wish I had a fix but I don't ever get the blue box ,haven't see it in my 2 years of win8

who knew .I just opened 12 tabs ,and yes I get the blue box, I guess I just don't use IE the same way you do, I reall only ever have 3 or 4 tabs and I don't mouse over the ie icon on the taskbar very often .but when I do it only stays there until I move the mouse
