Well you did not give us enough to figure out the problem. How was it installed? How old was the program? Was it for another OS? Did you try compatibility mode? By right clicking the shortcut and properties there is Compatibility tab. My guess the program is just not compatibility.

The good thing is you can play Bejewel by this link:
Bejeweled LIVE app for Windows in the Windows Store

You can get scores and play against other Xbox Friends.

Right click on Bejeweled 3, Properties, Compatibility, Run as Admin, Execute in W7 mode should make it work.

I highly suggest you don't run the game in admin mode due to security problems. If that is the case then dump it and buy the game from the windows store.

Your best bet is to get the latest version of this from Popcap.com as it works with no need to change any settings in Windows 8.

Bejeweled 3 never worked in Win8 for me, until the other day I found this thing about a 3D acceleration problem ([Solution] No 3D acceleration in Windows 8 :: Bejeweled 3 General Discussions) and tried that. Bejeweled 3 came up as a white screen and crashed. I decided to try it without this 3D acceleration tweak, and it worked! I have no idea why installing and uninstalling this 3D acceleration tweak made it work, but it did!

Kind of funny how no one can find a solution for this. I have to boot into my Windows 7 if I want to play this.

I had exactly the same problem with Bejeweled 3 on Windows 8. I tried all of the suggestions like compatibility mode etc... but to no avail. I finally got it to work by copying the complete directory for Bejeweled from a Windows 7 laptop that the game worked on, to a USB stick and then copied that into my windows 8 directory machine, which over writes the Bejeweled directory in windows 8 . It now works perfectly with the exception of taking a little longer to load which may be because I have a slow windows 8 laptop. The windows 7 Bejeweled installation directory has more files than the windows 8. For some reason windows 8 doesn't install all the files needed. I have not tried this with windows 8.1 though.
