1. Windows 8.1 personalization settings is confusing. It as if they only have their themes and youcannot change things like background colors as before. Use to, you could change the background colorof a window box and it would be the background color of all windows. EX; background color of, word docs, exceldocs, file manager and other such things could be a color of yourchoosing. I have followed the instructions and still cannot get the word, excel and other backgrounds to change. It seems as if all other colors change but the one I want to change. Any advise?
2. I have two computers (desktop and laptop) and now I cannot seem tofigure out how to avoid both computers having the same theme. I change one and the other one changes also. I want two different themes. One computer I use for astrophotography outdoors and in the dark and the other for indoor work. How can you have two different themes?

That's because Microsoft in their infinite wisdom? has decided that we need to see the same thing on all our computers! This version of themes came with Windows 8.1 Update and I hate it! Sorry, but I haven't figured it out how to change it back yet.

I think the themes are tied to the Microsoft ID we sign in with.

I haven't tried it yet, but it may be that if I sign in with two identities, such as Wynona@live.com or Wynona@hotmail.com (neither of these will get an email to me) :) it could be that I could have separate themes.

I'll try this tomorrow to see if it works. I don't like to have decisions made for me!
