During start up I receive a message that windows can not find FbDraf.exe and it skips the auto check. This problem is familiar with other versions of windows and I believe it has something to do with a previous windows defrag program that didn't get uninstalled but still exist inside of the basic start up function.
I have tried to find a way to remove this reference to Fbdefrag. I looked into the registry, I set folder options to see all files and folders and searched but can not find any way to remove the reference to this file.
I thought about renaming or deleting autochk.exe and re installing from the dvb but could not find it on the dvd. There is no long an i386 folder. I did find the autochk in the system32 folder on the computer.
I have also tried to automatically repair the start up but it fails also.
Does anyone have an idea short of formatting and starting all over, reinstating the previous version of windows 7 ultimate and finding the file and re installing the windows 8 upgrade.
Please help if you can.
