Confusing!

No I bought my computer and did nothing to it whatsoever. Smart Gesture is without a doubt installed on it, but I have no clue how to OPEN it! I just want to get of the damn gestures on my mousepad! When go to a website I continually have to get back to my page again, and again, as the mouse opens things and closes things on it's own. It also moves me where I don't want to go!

Confusing!

I definitely have Smart Gesture installed, I can see it in the "add remove program" screen. I just have no clue where the hell to find it!!! I just need to find it and open it I believe. And my problem is that #1) Sometimes randomly I start typing in the middle of the sentence, #2) Randomly, again, my pages open and close without my knowing, 3) And my windows just do crazy things that I don't understand, like minimizing and moving across the screen! There's more, but at the moment I cannot remember. With Windows 7 I found the menu with no help at all and made it so my freakin' MOUSEpad did one thing and one thing only: move the MOUSE! Help!!!

Uninstall it and then reinstall it. If its not listed in add remove programs then just reinstall it. You may also want to download and install the ATK package for your model.

And sorry, I just hadn't opened my laptop for a few days, I was working and tired!

For those of us that have it installed and working, the only way to access the settings is to click the Icon for it in the notifications area. If you have no Icon something is messed up. That is why I suggested reinstalling it. That may get you that missing Icon.

Install

I installed it . . . I think. It's on my computer, but not on the bottom right corner!!! I honestly just want to throw this piece of trash in the garbage and get one with ****ing Windows 7!

My Icon looks like a track pad, its a small blue square. Its hidden by default so I have to click the little up arrow to see it.

It may not be enabled in the Start Programs, get into task Manager and check your startup programs.

I'll make this much easier, I have it downloaded to my computer. Where the hell is it and how the hell do I open it?

There is an icon for it in the Notification Area by the clock. Double click it to change those settings. You may have to click the up arrow to see it.
If its installed it will be in C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Smart Gesture\
You may also need to install the ATK Package.

The biggest thing I want is to get rid of the tapping on the mousepad! Isn't that what the ****ing buttons are for???

Hi folks, I know I'm a little late to this game here. I just got my T100 last week and have been working hard to learn this Windows 8.1 and I'm normally an XP Pro user. As for the ASUS Smart Gesture, the icon is indeed there and easy to get to. NO, you won't find it immediately up front and in your face. Just like XP, down in your system tray (a little "up" arrow on 8.1) you can show the icons showing in your system tray. You'll then want to hit "customize", and in this list here you'll find the ASUS Smart Gesture Loader. Just change it from "hidden" to "show icon and notifications"; then it will be down there for you to open and make your necessary changes. You can then either re-hide it or just leave it showing for further easy access. No need for uninstalling and reinstalling. Its just a hidden system tray icon, no different than XP. I hope this helps somebody. I'm really enjoying this little tablet and look forward to using in on a couple of trips this spring. Good luck!

I lose my scroll function if I do that. The track pad on my ASUS laptop doesn't have a dedicated scroll bar sction. The two finger scroll is part of the smart gestures.

The ASUS Smart Gesture app isn't going to show up there. If it's there, and enabled, and working, it should show up in the notification tray as a hidden item.

Oh, and if you're having problems getting the program open from the notification tray, double click or click it repeatedly until it opens. I've noticed it usually doesn't respond to just one.

But if you can't still find it, go to the Program Files and it should be under ASUS or ASUS Smart Gesture. Find the .exe to Smart Gesture and change it away.

Open up Task Manager and in the Processes tab, see if it's even running to begin with. As usual, it'll be along the lines of Asus Smart Gesture, if you can find that actually running, right click on it and hit Open file location. Hopefully from there you should have a File Explorer window show up with the .exe highlighted.
