Advance Windows Update Notification for November 10th 2014

Today, we provide advance notification for the release of 16 Security Bulletins. Five of these updates are rated Critical, nine are rated as Important, and two are rated Moderate in severity. These updates are for Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Office, Exchange, .NET Framework, Internet Information Services (IIS), Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Input Method Editor (IME) (Japanese), and Kernel Mode Driver (KMD).

As per our monthly process, we've scheduled the Security Bulletin release for the second Tuesday of the month, November 11, 2014, at approximately 10 a.m. PST. At that time, we'll provide deployment guidance. Until then, please review the ANS summary page for more information to help you prepare for Security Bulletin testing and deployment.

We also want to let you know about a new way we will deliver our Security Bulletins. To streamline the way customers receive our security updates, we are directing customers to resources that will be available on the MSRC blog on Update Tuesday.

19 Updates today (120 MB) mainly security updates. Total time download, install and reboot, 10 minutes. No problems seen so far.

Download and install went fast with no problems on 3 pc's. 18 updates on each. This the the 2nd month in a row without any complications - congratulations, Microsoft.

The 19 updates on my Windows 8.1 machine took 25 minutes, not bad considering my lousy 1.5 Mbps download speed.

Jesse, mine hadn't shown up by noon either so I clicked check for updates and they then appeared.

Long day today. Had 24 updates for my two 8.1 systems and still need to do the wife's Windows 7.

Updates are released at 10:00AM PST which is Noon here in Louisiana.

I usually check and update other programs also and then do a backup image.

Desktop is done and Laptop is almost finish with the image.

Four and a half hours from start to finish on these two units.

I'll do the wife's after supper and then tomorrow I will pull the HDD on the Laptop and install a Crucial MX 100 256GB SSD and load with a clean install of Windows 8.1 Core.

Glad I am retired.

Yeah, cbwilsha. I checked around noon too, and they appeared. Don't want to install them until tomorrow though. My Windows 7 laptop had 13 updates.

I downloaded & installed all the updates for my Win8.1 laptop, and for a Win8.1 Desktop ... a long process at my DL speeds, but all seem to have installed OK

Had to force update, updates set to notify only but it did not. Otherwise, less than 15 minutes later everything was downloaded and installed without a slightest hitch.

Jim you are more trustful than I - I do a backup before the updates just in case.....

Actually I did a Macrium image just prior to stating the updates. Then after everything is finished I do another one.

I believe in safety: I wear a belt and suspenders.
