Add features to Windows 8.1? worth it?

In the bottom-left of the Control Panel | Windows Update (among other places), there is a link that allows a 8.1 user to upgrade their system.

What do you think? To me... not worth it. I would consider it though- if it was 1/2 the price.

Upgrade to what? Pro I pay for pro on every new system. If you don't miss it or know the difference you probably don't need to spend the money on it.
Upgrade to 10 will be free starting July 29th

Since I do not use > bitlocker, remote desktop or join a domain < on my HOME destop

No need for Windows Pro

Ya... I should have used Bitlocker on the previous tablet that got the power/charging connection problem.

Because I did not, I can't return my still-under-warranty tablet for replacement. Maybe it's just paranoia, but I don't want to be vulnerable like that with my personal id/password files.

Live and learn.

On the replacement tablet, no personal files are loaded.

Will probably upgrade to Pro- on Win10, when it's made available.

I use Remote Desktop to log into my second desktop PC and my Raspberry Pi so I run Pro on all my PC's. I also occasionally use the Group Policy Editor. If you haven't said to yourself, "I wish I had that feature", you likely don't need Pro.

EDIT: I should probably add a disclaimer. I get Windows 8.1 free though MSDN so it doesn't cost me anything extra to run Pro over non Pro. If I didn't have MSDN I likely still wouldn't buy Pro. I'd just find another way to do things.
