OK I used the Pro one (since I have Pro) and it didn't work. maybe because I have 8.1 preview installed now, not 8.0?

I don't know how your picture would help anything, but i did fin how to do it. When I opened the installer it asked if I wanted to check for updates first and I said yes. When I decided to try again I said no instead this time and it worked, everything installed correctly and I'm all set now. I bet they figured out what people were doing with that generic code and made an update to "fix" it.
