I am at the end of my rope and I need answers. I am trying to record using the StereoMix device and my Headphones Mic at the same time.
What happens is If I enable either Headphones Mic (Logitech headphones with Mic) or StereoMix the other one becomes " currently unavailable" I cannot get them both to work together. I can get StereoMix and the Internal Mic to work together ( both enabled at the same time) but the sound quality is bad because the internal mic picks up noises from the PC. I need to have both my headphones mic and stereo mix enabled at the same time for use of dual headphone and mics while recording a podcast and inserting sound bites as i record live. ( I don't have the dual headphones hooked up yet so that's not causing a conflict).
I know this was possible in earlier versions of windows.
The driver I'm using is the one provided by HP with the laptop. It is called sp59620.exe It contains this driver:
I have asked in this forum once - http://www.eightforums.com/sound-audio/26848-how-use-stereomix-headphones-mic-same.html#post245559
I have asked in the Microsoft Community forums.
I have asked in the HP forums
I have asked in the Logitech forums.
I have asked IDT support.
I have gotten no answers in any of them except in this forum by member Firebred in the above thread. (apparently he didn't have any more answers for me)
What I am asking now is if some of you who had experience with different drivers.. even custom drivers people make/hack to help me find what is causing my problem and how to fix it. I need you to do some testing for me.
I also want to know Can ANYONE make this work with Windows 8 at all - and if so - what driver are you using?
Please folks help me out, try to make this work and get back to me.
Remember my audio is provided by IDT so you must have IDT audio also. StereoMix will be grayed out and or "Currently Unavailable" by default with Windows 8. You have to select it as the default device for it to show up as a device you can use.
