How to download an .exe file? (SetupIMGburn.exe)

It seems like it is not Windows after all that stops it. BitDefender thinks IMGburn 2.5.8.0 is very dangerous, but version 2.5.7.0 is not. It is a BitDefender problem, and not Windows 8.1 ... Sorry for my mistake :-)

Solved Mediacreationtool gives an error - NTFS reparse-point?

You have 2 options with this program. Give a little speed when making the ramdisk dynamic in size (ie you have 16 gbyte ram, set the ramdisk to 12 gbyte in dynamic size, and the ramdisk will ONLY take as much ram as necessary, and it can never be increased above 12gbyte. If there is only...

Solved Mediacreationtool gives an error - NTFS reparse-point?

Yes, it is my call, and I will continue to use the ramdisk, as the speed-advance is great compared to the SSD: Try and get these numbers from a SSD or a HDD :-) NB: In the picture the ramdisk is only at 2Gbyte for testing, normally it is at 8 gbyte ;)

Solved Mediacreationtool gives an error - NTFS reparse-point?

Found the error. I am using ImDisk's RAMdisk as a tempdrive (to make writings to my SSD lesser), and Microsoft's program don't like that allthough the ramdisk is formatted with NTFS. As soon as I put the default values for tempfile-placements back, the error is gone :-) This is the first...

Why would I want to switch to Windows 10?

I don't use touch at all. Only desktop is interresting for me (gamer-PC), so most of Win8(.1) was a downer compared to winddows 7. I don't like the "new" flat look of Windows 8.1, but I like the small amount of PC-power windows 8.1 have to use compared to windows 7. I miss aero, rounded corners...

USB 3.1 set to reach desktops

If you buy the "next from cheapest" USB3 HW you will see a big difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Here is a test of my Sandisk Extreme 32Gbyte USB3.0 USB-stick Try to get this speed with USB2.0 :) BUT!!! As Windows 7 changed to Windows 8(.1) some older USB3 HW dropped in speed. My...

Intel USB 3.0 driver for Z97 chipset - where to find?

Yes, this web-page is where I got my USB-driver for my older MSI Z77A GD65 and it worked fine, but after upgrading to a mobo with Z97 chipset, I can't get these drivers to work.. I am hoping that windows 10 will be better in supporting both categories of USB3 (both the Microsoft's windows...

Intel USB 3.0 driver for Z97 chipset - where to find?

Link? I have tried to look at Intel and Gigabyte, and there are USB3 drivers for Windows 7, but I can't find any for Windows 8.1, so until a link is showed, I'm quite sure there are no USB 3 drivers for Intel Z97 for windows 8.1. Here is gigabytes downloadlink for my mobo, please show me USB...

Intel USB 3.0 driver for Z97 chipset - where to find?

#6 I know that, but there has to be some change to the 2 *.inf files in the x64 driver for them to allow installing in Windows 8. #5 No, my hub is not suspect ;), it is just old, and don't support firmware upgrade. It works perfect in windows 7. Intel has not made a driver for windows 8, since...

Intel USB 3.0 driver for Z97 chipset - where to find?

Thank you. I found this driver: Station-Drivers - Intel USB 3.0 Controller Drivers Version 3.0.2.54 WHQL and it seems like it is the one I must use, but how do I "hack" the *.inf files so it will be possible to install it in Windows 8.1? The *.inf driver will only let it install in Windows 7 and...

Intel USB 3.0 driver for Z97 chipset - where to find?

Hi. As I started with Windows 8 it became clear, that my buildin USB 3.0 hub did not work with Windows 8, but I found a solution here in eightforums.com ( read here: http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/13877-usb3-still-missing-new-intel-usb3-driver-2.html ). Now I have moved on to a...
