I obvously assumed that all knows Surface runs Windows RT, but of course, newly updated version of Windows RT (with 8.1.1 update) was what I meant. Anyways, seems like they don't do this for that specific version and closing thread as solved.

Don't know if it is. Don't have access to dl from technet as I don't have paid services there. But probably someone will release an ISO I can put on a USB stick and install a fresh copy from, because after the 8.1 update 1 install, it's constantly freezing up during IE metro use.

Solved: It was the edge of the graphic card on the back of the case, that made it so the HDMI cable didn't get attached properly. Changed to a 3rd cable with smaller border, and it's now working 100% as it should.

Was really to avoid all those updates I wanted this in the first place. Guess it will not be possible to "replace" the inbuilt restore version of Win 8.1?

Hopefully it will be around that time. Would been great to test it and see if I could get this to run properly again.
