    MilesAhead,

In what way can a virus hide itself so that it will show up again after a restore/clean/wipe of a hard drive?

I'm asking because is it or isn't it true that now with pretty restricted bios's, and a clean install, that should clean a system?

of course if you reinstall software that was infected from before that wouldn't help but..

I didn't mention anything to do with virus hiding. The point I made is that there's no real need to make a bootable utility USB. If my system won't boot I would just lay on the saved image. An ordinary USB with portable programs is fine for me. If you are a technician making house calls that's a different story. For me it would not be worth the work to track down all the various drivers needed to make a true general purpose technicians software tool.

I'm not saying it can't be done.

I found out from another user if you create a Recovery Drive USB as in Brink's Tutorial, it has a command line with chkdsk.exe etc.. So that is something.

Hello, I want to make some bootable Antivirus CDs, and I would like to know what kind of CDs to use. There are lots of them, which one is the most reliable, and cheapest? I have no experience with disks, because in the past I put it all on USB drives, but I would like to start using some disks.
Could someone give me the heads up if it is still necessary to disable CMS in the bios to fully utilize a UEFI install? I'm getting conflicting messages from what I am reading, probably because I have no idea what I am doing. Cheers
