Yes that is what I suggested. That is a false positive on the trojen I can assure you "run it anyway". In fact you should disable which ever anti virus you are using now as they can also cause connection problems.

We don't pass out trojen's here at the Windows forum, the false positive is because of the .exe vender advertisement that only runs in the DOS prompt.

I tried updating the driver again. It shows I have internet connection, the message that appears now says "The proxy server isn't responding"

After further investigation, the diagnosed issue says "The device resource (Google) is not set up to accept connections on port 443"

I think it might be more important to know if the connection actually works or not.

Are you even using a Proxy server?

In fact both of these error message give weight to the network stack being corrupted. Have you run the reset file?

If not try running the following commands one at a time in an elevated command prompt. Reboot after and check for connection.

    Code:
    netsh winsock reset catalog
    (reset winsock entries)

    Code:
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
    (reset TCP/IP stack)

    Code:
    ipconfig /release
    Code:
    ipconfig /renew
See if the connection can use a browser and go online after.

Can you maybe check to see if the proxy settings are turned on for Internet Explorer browser?

If you go upper right to tools, then to internet options, connections tab, then click on the Lan settings button, uncheck any proxy settings.

It might also help to restore IE to default settings by going to the Advanced tab same window, then click the reset button.

The “one or more network protocols are missing” error usually affects PCs with loose internet cables or otherwise faulty internet connection. The easiest method that can help solve the problem is to double check all wires and see they are properly plugged in. If that doesn’t solve the issue, try disabling NetBIOS. Try the solution given here...it's very simple just follow the step by step procedure and you are ready to go!!!
