I am using a Netgear WNDA4100 wireless adapter on my new Windows 8 desktop computer. I had previously been using the WNDA3100 and it worked flawlessly; however I found a refurbished WNDA4100 online for half the price.
Up until today, the WNDA4100 had not let me down. Every website I would type in would load right away. I decided to save some money and return the WNDA3100...but not before testing out which one worked better. So I uninstalled the driver for the 4100, reinstalled the 3100, and didn't see much difference in performance. Naturally, I returned the earlier, more expensive model and reinstalled the WNDA4100.
However, it does not seem to be working the same as it had up until today. When I try to load a page, it will have 2-5 seconds of request before actually loading anything (I use google chrome and what I mean is that I will see the light gray counterclockwise circle for a few seconds before seeing the fast/dark/clockwise circle, whereas for the past 2 weeks on this same wireless adapter I have barely ever seen the light gray circle for even 1/2 a second).
This is very frustrating for me because I have a new and powerful machine that now feels extremely slow...and I KNOW that this wireless adapter can perform much better than this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers/utilities a couple times, I've unplugged the device and plugged it back in, and I've even tried other USB ports on my machine. Please help me!!
*Edit*
PLEASE NOTE
After the delay, the pages will load a lot slower than they used to...but they do load all the way after a while.
