Could you click on change Adapter settings on the left hand pane and then upload a screenshot

My apologies for the different steps as I am trying to find out what the cause may be

This appears to be a driver problem rather than an Ip address problem

Please extract the following folder and then run the setup.exe on the problematic machine

    Drivers received from - Realtek

Upon completion of install please restart the machine

    Hope This Helps,
    Josh

    I think its fixed
after installing the driver you said to install it wasnt working but when i clicked on properties it said it had two different drivers for it so i uninstalled both then reinstalled the new one again and it works

Do you have any idea what may have caused this to happen or may have been wrong with it?
i spend a lot of time playing online poker and an internet connection cut off could cost me a lot of money if im playing a lot of tournaments so i wouldnt want this problem to come about again.

    thanks for all your help

also do you have any idea why an ethernet driver problem would make the wifi not work too??

To me it seems slightly bizarre that a driver problem occurred out of the blue with no system changes however it did seem the likely cause. As with the WiFi I am not entirely sure however it appeared that the WiFi was unable to 'tie' an IP address to the NIC similar to the Ethernet issue (Driver issue) That being said unless the wireless was integrated the driver sets should be different. As long as you issue is sorted I am happy

    Tip   Tip
You may want to make sure that your IP address and DNS servers are obtained automatically rather than static to avoid connection issues if you join another network in the future

Make sure you make a system restore point from here so that if a problem does occur you can restore to this point as it is a known good configuration. To do so follow this tutorial - Restore Point - Create in Windows 8

I will get this thread to be marked as solved

Follow my previous post on how to set the static IP address through network and sharing center but instead click on 'Obtain IP Address Automatically' And Obtain DNS servers automatically'
