    Use Laptop as Wireless

I was wondering if it's possible to connect my laptop to my computer with an ethernet cord or something and then use the laptops wireless capabilities on my desktop. I need to do this to stop the random wifi drops involved with my windows 8. (ref: Windows 8 wifi randomly disconnecting)

Could somebody tell me if this is possible and how I can do it?

Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center

From an elevated command prompt on your connected laptop (Windows 7 or 8) issue the following commands:
    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyHotSpot key=MyPassword
    netsh wlan start hostednetwork
You then have to share the new connection you have set up in Control Panel Network and sharing center, change adapter settings, Local area network (shared), properties, Allow other users to connect through... and check the box.

You will now find that your laptop can be connected using the SSID MyHotSpot, with the password you choose.

You can stop the connection in the same way as the last command, replacing "start" with "stop"
