So all my drivers and everything is up to date but however, randomly at times, the screen freezes. I am able to move the mouse and after few minutes (ranging from 3minutes at least, otherwise i just push the power button to reset) it comes back. Any solutions to this?

Ahh.. I see. Thing is I have like 5 different flash drives and they are all 4gb. Buying a new one seems pointless. Thanks anyway. If the iPod works, then it works but if it doesn't, I'll borrow a flashdrive somehow I guess. Thank you for all your help and the tutorials.

Yeah, I don't have the setupact.log file in that directory. I tried option 1 but there is no Bios type category. My laptop is HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC. The BIOS Version is Hewlett-Packard F.34 8/16/2011 SMBIOS Version: 2.7 Boot Device: /Device/HarddiskVolume1

Update: I was finally able to put my iso on my 4gb flashdrive using Rufus. However I did it using UEFI method which I'm not sure if my BIOS is running.

I tried all methods but failed to find out the boot mode. I tried looking for the log file in Windows/Panther but there is no file to search the "Detected boot environment" I also looked in System Information but there is no category that says 'Bios Mode'. Also tried method 3 even though I...

Well I have a 4GB flashdrive which actually stores 3.72. The iso is 3.63 but when right clicked, it says 3.63 GB (3,899,295,744 bytes) which means 3.9 GB right? I used the Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool

I got the 8.1 iso through DreamSpark. I tried putting the iso on my 4gb flashdrive but all the contents don't fit in. Grr. Going to download Windows 8 from DreamSpark hoping it's smaller and then upgrading to 8.1 after installing 8.

Does anyone know the size of Windows 8 ISO file size? I have 8.1 iso file and it's size is 3.63 GB but am confused whether if it's only the iso file for the upgrade or the whole operating system including 8 and new stuff from 8.1. I don't want to mess up my computer.
