Can't install any programs- "Error writing to file C:\..."

    On some programs, it's as simple as right-click and hit 'Run as administrator'

    In the Select User or Group screen (where your cursor is) enter your profile name and click on the Check Names button then OK.

    That looks OK (assuming it is for your profile). What is the permission tab like? Is it the same as in Post #10?

    Well it was worth checking in case it was screwed up somehow. It looks fine - both are identical to mine which I did a clean install yesterday. I'm not sure what to suggest now, sorry. I'll think about it but perhaps someone else will have an idea.
