In a way I was hoping it would do that. I'd rather that than it install an incompatible driver. 307.21 are the highest ones listed for your card on the NVidia site when I input the values for your card..

Just to be sure, this is the one you tried? Nvidia GeForce Graphics Driver 326.01 for Windows 8.1 Preview 32-bit Download - TechSpot

Is, running out of options. Have you tried uninstalling the driver and selecting to delete the driver then reboot and see what Windows installs? Kind of a last ditch effort though.

UPDATE: Found these on a French site. a bit older but maybe they will work better: NVIDIA DRIVERS 306.97WHQL
You can go here, Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers and up at the top where it says "Search NVidia" you can type in the driver version your looking for. If its a valid number it should find it.
Ha, ha, didn't know the driver number until I found it on the French site.

Hope it works for him. I do know with graphics cards, newer drivers are not always better, especially with older cards.

Looks to be the same one but I am retrying. If that doesn't work I will try the French site one. I will report back asap. You guys are awesome! I don't know if I will ever get this card to work but your help has been great! I know it's old!

307.21 is likely the best you'll do. Anything higher will likely just give you the "no compatible hardware found" message. Lower drivers may not offer any performance boost, if they do it will be just blind luck. Was RTCW running better on that PC in the past? It sucks but you may have to turn back the visuals to get it to play better. That or pony up and buy a better video card.

I tried the 306 driver with no better results by the way. But really no worse.

It was running pretty good on XP and I did play some on 8 and that seemed ok, but I went to 8.1 almost immediately because I had heard there were some enhancements in there that made it alot better. Maybe a mistake. I wonder because it is a shared memory video card that I am running out of ram with only 2gb in the pc. I am getting 2 more gb so I will see here soon. If this doesn't work then I guess I will have to get a little better card. I love playing RTCW online and would hate to have to give it up but if I have to I have to for awhile until I get this fixed. I am just not that learned on video cards so I wouldn't know which one to get. This pc is from 2005 so I don't want to put too much money into it but I figured upgrading software on a pc that does what I want, except for this game deal, was cheaper than a new pc. Thanks alot!

You know I have been getting a screen condition that covers some of the screen with a band of lines that makes it impossible to see what is behind it, if I refresh it goes away. Mostly on IE but sometimes on the desktop. If this means anything more. Sorry hadn't had it happen alot but some.

It has been my experience that almost anything is better than onboard video. A dedicated card with its own onboard dedicated VRAM makes a big difference all around. What you buy depends on what slots your motherboard has, PCIe, PCI, or AGP < if its really old lol. I went from a NVidia GT 210 to a 630 and then a 640. They all played RTCW very well. All that being said, online games have other factors that will effect game play. You might have been going at it from the wrong angle. You internet speed will have a big issue on online games. It could be your WIFI driver if your using WIFI, or your NIC driver that needs updating. A poor, slow, and or intermittent network connection will negatively impact online game play.

If you add more RAM and decide to get a dedicated video card, you may want to think about going 64 bit. 32 bit Windows operating systems have a 4 gig address limit. So even though your video card has dedicated RAM, it will still subtract from your 4 gig usable total. With 64 bit it won't. Adding more RAM is a good inexpensive start. I would definitely do that first and see how things go.
