Hi there -- Information ??? You could have fooled me -- ANYBODY could have written that short piece even if they came from Planet ZOG in a "Galaxy far far away" and had never heard of Windows.
With all due respect, Canouna is a very well regarded and reliable source of information, but don't take my word for it, spend a little time searching...
I think we all are waiting for DECENT leaks and tips of what the RC will contain --- and when for example it mentions the "Return of Windows to go" --- Oh Really --it never WENT AWAY !!!!!.
Sky drive is another piece of "Non Information" -- that cloud based stuff will work on ANY version of windows --probably even 3.11 running on as a VM (won't work natively --file system won't be readable on Windows 3.11 !!).
Lets have some REAL leaks and News Please !!!!
Cheers
jimbo
Keep watching...
Guys, you all know as well as I do that when Microsoft releases a beta for public consumption such as the Consumer Preview, they intend it as the final version.
The only reason they release it is to work out the bugs. Unless they change their behavior from the past, we all are already using Windows 8 final as it will be in stores - perhaps with the addition of bugs here or there that will be fixed.
Reading this thread is entirely your choice. RC will be out in a couple of months...Hi there Not trying to be nasty but these snippets of information offer us NOTHING at all about what the eventual release will look like. The two links shown in this thread are probably the LEAST informative "Factoids" I've ever had to look at in ANY industry --they say precisely NOTHING. !!
IndeedThis time MS seems to have securely closed the hatch against the sort of leaks we all had fun with at the time of W7 testing etc. I can remember at least 5 or 6 builds going "into the wilds" before even an official RC was available and there were several significant changes along the way too.
Anything's possible.I don't expect W8 to be any different UNLESS (and it's still possible) MS decides
Not sure how "we're killing it"?-- OK this product isn't going the way we want it to -- we're killing it
It's beta software which, Microsoft have released to garner feedback, good and bad.-- and nobody could complain since we are using this FREELY as a TEST piece of Software that Ms has never said they would release.
If they follow the example of other Beta products, the RC should be freely available for download and testing. Will Windows 8 RC still free or have to buy the product to use it?

They certainly won't be charging for the RC. They only thing they could do, which is unlikely, is restrict the availability.I hope that's true, because I don't have enough money to buy it. My income is only US$200/monthIf they follow the example of other Beta products, the RC should be freely available for download and testing.

They could make it available to specific types of Microsoft customer, as opposed to the general public, but I seriously wouldn't worry about it. The chance of that happening is virtually zero. What do you mean about restrict the avaibility? They certainly won't be charging for the RC.
