Hi Folks,
I want to move files from my old Desktop (Windows 2000 Server) to my new Laptop (Windows 8.1 Pro).
I have a Router, an Ethernet Cable and a Crossover Cable.
Note: The Router (older Netgear) always shows up as "Unidentified network". However, I can successfully share the Laptop's Internet Connection to it via the Ethernet port. It is joined to the HomeGroup and is a Private network.
The Router's IP Address is 192.168.1.1 which I can connect to using the Smartphone over Wi-Fi.
IP Config for the Ethernet Adapter is as follows.
Networking is not my forte in Computing. So, it would be much appreciated if someone could, point me to the right tutorials, or, give me instructions, on how to do this.
Thanks, Michael.
