Hello there.
The problem: Computer boots, strats loading windows; the dots going in a circle thing (before the login screen). The dots go round and around (the HDD led blinks for the first few seconds then just stops). This goes on for a couple of mins (5+ according to the event viewer) and then bam.. I get the login screen and everything works fine.. :l
I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 pro yesterday. Had this problem, figured it was because I upgraded instead of just doing a clean install.
Did a clean install today, still same problem. Disabled fast boot, didn't change anything. Updated drivers, didn't change anything. Updated the MB bios to the latest version, didn't change anything. What I've found out is that when I unplug one of my hard drives it boots up just fine. Which reminds me, I had to unplug my normal HDD's when installing Windows 8.. something about it only supporting 4 primary partitions.
Picture from my Disk Management:
My C drive is an Intel X25-M 80GB SSD drive.
Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?
Cheers
