When I first saw the pricing of the Surface Pro I was so happy (still am). Then I read some feedback on the internet and I was so sickened by the comlaints that I am starting this thread.
First of all let me state why this thing rocks:
- 3rd gen core i5 + Windows 8 pro. Finally a proper, strong notebook in tablet size.
- Full hd (1920x1080) display. Considering that it is only 10" this means it is almost at the threshold of the eye's angular resolution. Since this is a powerfull notebook the screen estate will be great for multitasking.
- Touch screen, nice to have since you can also use this thing as a tablet.
- Digitizer layer (Wacom I guess). This is a BIG BIG plus, as someone who has used even graphics tablets for taking notes finally this device can be efficiently used for replacing pen and paper altogether. It is also amazing for drawing. people who are familiar with old tablet pcs and graphics tablets know how important and an expensive addition this is.
- only 2 lbs.
So basically for the same price instead of purchasing a heavier imac pro with less resolution, no touch input, no Digitizer layer you can get it all in a tablet form.
There is NOTHING on the market today which compares to this at the price point of 899$ even when you add $100 for the touch cover , NOTHING. This thing fills a huge gap which is caused by dumbfied users (I especially blame Apple for this).
This is not a tablet, this is a powerful ultrabook in the tablet form. I have seen people complaining about this thing and the only thing they could come up with was that surface pro does not come with keyboard and its stand sucks. Although I agree that the stand sucks and needs to be redesigned for lap use the rest of the argument is simply idiotic. Just being able to hold it in one hand and use it as a tablet or taking notes far greater pros for this device.
I hope these people are more like the non tech crowd who are satisfied with toyish tablets otherwise I can say that mankind has become quite dumb.
