    Cannot use "Refresh PC and Remove all files" option

    I've been trying to factory reset my ASUS Q400A laptop but every time I've tried, it says cannot find recovery drive or if I try to make a recovery, it says missing required files. I've looked up many solutions on this site and can't seem to fix my problem. I don't know if it's my laptop that's messed up, or if i'm just dumb and am overlooking something. I even went to GeekSquad and realized it was a terrible waste of $130. I still have the viruses I had before.

    Can someone please help me figure out how to fix this issue?

    I bought it pre-owned at a CompUSA which had Windows 8 installed on it. I don't think it was the full version as I had to buy a Windows 8 product key, which was done from the MS store digitally which is apparently invalid now.

    you can install windows 8.1 or windows 10 using your windows 8 product key...

    For windows 8.1 Setup Media > Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help

    For Windows 10 Setup media > Tech Bench

    Or you can try to use Asus backtracker > Backtracker - How to download and install Backtracker?
    If you still have the Asus factory recovery partition

    With the Windows 8.1 Setup Media, It doesn't let me pick the USB option because it doesn't detect my usb ;-;

    it's in NTFS format. Is there something i'm doing wrong or do I just have to do .ISO file and buy blank cd's?

    if you have the windows 8.1 ISO - you need to copy the contents of the ISO to a Fat32 formatted USB

    the creation tool should give you option to make USB - insert USB before running tool

Hi all, So I'm kind of stuck.. I currently have the problem where I am in an endless cycle of "loading files" -> "Windows Boot Manager" (see: How To Boot Into Safe Mode On Windows 8 (The Easy Way)). I have tried to load all of the options -- and none successfully load. I also end up at...
Hi guys, what do I do if the refresh install on W8.1 says that I'm missing files? I installed W8 from a retail disc and upgraded to 8.1 via Windows Update. I can't use the W8 disc, it says invalid media. Do I just follow the steps shown on the tutorial here? Thanks.
My un–computer savvy friend just bought a Windows 8 tablet, and not knowing anything about it, he called me. I thought I knew a thing or two about Windows, too, but between the two of us we couldn't make head or tail of it. Specifically what we were trying to do today was sync his documents from...
Even though the tutorial on this forum says there should be a custom option, I don't seem to have it. 37375 Any thoughts on how can I bring it back? P.S. Does anyone know what that "winrt--{***}-" folder is?
