Nothing at all like that. It runs perfectly until this one day when I boot up, it freezes, once so I restarted it and carried on my day... And next time it takes a little longer to restart and it just takes more and more attempts. Once it does eventually boot up, everything works 100% fine as if there was no problem at all. Every time I put it onto sleep, or turn it off the problem comes back. I have no idea how i fix it each time

I would check the hard drive for issues and the memory and go from there , change setting from sleep to always on and see if that solves the problem.

What you are describing could be a hard drive problem the spindle bearings oil is getting old and it takes more time for the spindle to come up to speed for the drive to be used for booting thus the several tries to boot. I have seen this before.

Thank you. Is there a way to basically clone the hard drive including OS and all? The only one I know of that would do this is Nothern Ghost. That would save me a lot of time and effort

I will buy that and give it a go. Will post result after

Hmmm, now we know this isn't a hard drive issue, this sounds more like a driver issue.

Seeing that you have an NVIDIA graphics card, can you check to see if you have the official NVIDIA drivers installed? It seems like their drivers have a tendency to be a culprit in situations like these. Also, you have the latest Windows updates installed, correct?

i do have the latest updates and drivers. i have spend a good few months without updates and drivers (keeping it in factory settings) and eventually it still freezes so we can rule that too.

so far i have ruled out, windows x64 with and without updates, windows x86 with and without updates, new hard drives.

do you think its time to get a new computer?
